Spring and summer color selections are much more vast than fall and winter. Plants grow taller, fuller, and their maximum height is different for each plant.

These exotic flowers come in both pink and red. While there aren’t many color selections, you can guarantee that with proper irrigation and sun, they will be lush and full. You can even create the illusion that the bed is 2x the size, simply from their growth and expansion habits.
Zinnias
Zinnias come in a variety of colors, and they all thrive in the full, blazing sun. The orange variety just screams summer when you see it in a bed.
They are a great mid-height annual for explosive full-season color.
Duranta
Duranta is a non-flowering foliage plant — but even though it doesn’t flower, the impact it creates can not be matched. Duranta’s bright chartreuse foliage contrasts well with any full-sun annual, as well as lush turf.
This is one of the lowest growing annuals, and it offers a finished and crisp look to any seasonal color display.
Blue Salvia
This is a perfect mid-height annual. The light blue color softens the bed. Light blue also gives a refreshing element in a season where there are very few blue flowers. This plant is sun-loving and heat-thriving.
Lantana
Lantana comes in a variety of colors and is the most heat and drought-tolerant plant. This plant does the best in full sun with less water. It blooms continuously and takes off when the heat is at its most intense. This plant grows very full and tall and is great as a colorful backdrop for a color display.
